Yes fair enough I suppose on the article itself, BUT had some of the paying public and MSM known of the real issues behind the scenes with this idiot, 11 other acts and the Artists Booking company who were also taken to Court then they may not of been so harsh on us organisers.
At the end of the day our festival got stuffed unfairly, unlawfully and whilst we can't be completely without blame either, we (or I) felt I had no choice to go and put one of the biggest wrongs of it all right (because we had booked him 6 months before he became no1 for peanuts and then he thought he'd not turn up on a payment technicality now he was bill big potatoes) .
I eventually won the case in the Court of Appeal, legal fees went somewhere above 500k and by the time it was all said and done I roughly lost about 20k over it but proved a point.
Was it all worth it? yeah of course it was. Sending in the High Court Bailiffs with the Police, Lock Smiths and Gilm Crew from Channel 5 to tow all his cars away after he refused to pay me was absolutely priceless. Needless to say he decided to pay up at that point lol.
There you go, you now have the untold story straight from the source 👍🇬🇧
Hi Daniel! Thanks for your comment. I did mention legal costs but yes, I did see the costs were rather high. Also interesting he was put on a coronation playlist for King Charles ahead of the big day in May and has now been removed due to public pressure because of his conviction for violence against a woman. Quite the fall from grace…
I hope you enjoyed the article (as much as is possible I guess!) and found it fair.
